The rutted Pennsylvania roads are full of patriotic tchotskes...so many overpasses a-flap with an American flag, so many "God Bless America" signs on insurance offices and laundromats.... One of these ricky-ticky towns is the home of those Marshmallow Peeps that stick to the plastic grass and the jelly beans in your Easter basket. A spastic Corolla zipped in front of us, cutting us off, their pine tree air freshener flapping and flipping around its string tethering it to the rear view mirror.

One entire length of one whole bridge across the Susquehanna was a waiting line of boxcars (Peeps?)...and we're living here in Allentown.... The campground was pretty, but the WiFi was a joke -- plenty of signal, but no connectivity to work with at all...a veritable string and a Dixie cup, boosted perhaps by a 300-baud modem up in the general office.
