A sleepy little Outback town...the general store sold the usual odd grab-bag of things: rickrack, old Butterick patterns, polyester dresses, hats, batteries, alfalfa sprouts.... and right by the door there was a cardboard box with a slit cut in the top where you could return your library books :)
Sleepy Outback town or no, you could still get a decent cappuccino in the art gallery/diner/souvenir store next to the general store.

Huge trees over 525 million years old, and natural habitat for many native animals. Driving in we saw kangaroos and wallabies; driving out, we saw emus. Spectacular scenery -- some of the hollows in the trees were big enough for a couple of people to sit inside with room to spare.
